10. Madonna - I Don't Search I Find

cacoachart's first week is flooded with electronic and dance music just as expected. below u can see what these entries are based on. madonna dominates holding the two top spots and having a third entry at no. 10 too. while after madonna, the artist with the highest entry is slayyyter with cannibalism. after that a few smaller artists enter and ofcourse azealia banks.

faq: what are these placements based on?

basically i track all my plays and then my most played songs will make up the top 10. then i will reorder that top 10 based on global commercial success currently. newer releases are prioritized but if i played an old release a LOT it still might come close to one that was even prioritized because of its newer release date. i also try to not let one artist dominate the chart all the time, and have smaller artists enter too or lesser known releases.

runway

runway by lady gaga and doechii is so fucking diappointing. let me tell you how hyped i was about lady gaga making music for the devil wears prada because i fucking love her and artpop and born this way and you know her earlier albums + a few songs of chromatica and mayhem.. but this sounds like something that was cut from chromatica due to being too ass.. its got no melody, we just got a few sung vocals from gaga. also its too much doechii and not enough lady gaga in my opinion. doechii is just the artist thats being forced down our throat by the music industry right now and im so tired of that too. this song is incredibly forced and generic and its trying to be so fierce but the vocals and when doechii says "biiitch" it just sounds so bad. just replace this song in the soundtrack with donatella from artpop cause this is terrible. it has a strutting beat and while it is incredibly terrible it is high energy. in a recent interview doechii said lady gaga and her have more coming. PLEASE DONT. the song performed terribly on the charts considering that two massive stars are on it. especially if we consider how succesful lady gaga has been recently.

this is the only good thing that this song gave us, even tho its runway's second week, and i feel so free just debuted, thing is that i also listened to i feel so free and wrote a review about it and its so much better than this. im so sorry to all the little monsters but this song is just genuinely not it and i love gaga too.

while this is an incredibly disappointing release of lady gaga, im still awaiting new music from her and love her. and for what its worth, i think the cover looks cool

i feel so free

madonna's long awaited comeback to the dancefloor doesn't disappoint. with i feel so free she returned with a similar sound which is no coincidence, as its a promotional single of her upcoming album "confessions II" which will be a sequel to the legendary album, confessions on a dancefloor.

the jewel of the song is not the lyrics as its pretty repetitive, but just the overall feeling and sound of it. if the dance club charts would still be around it would DOMINATE not just because of its club potential but also the rollout, which was very classic. the song debuted on a radio station and was sent to djs prior to its release. the 5 minute long song has a slow buildup, and lots of spoken lines but i dont really mind it. im hearing hints of i feel love by donna summers and 4 minutes into the song we can hear a bit of acid too. its house, edm, i guess it is dance pop but it has this underground feel to it.

now i didnt wait a week to write this review for no reason, i wanted to see how the song would perform commercially. madonna is a 67 year old pop star, undoubtedly the biggest female artist of all time, but in the recent years she was unable to compete with the new pop girls like she did 15 years ago. but i thought this might change after her massive copacabana show and multiple collaborations with younger artists, and ofcourse the coachella performance with sabrina carpenter. and i was not wrong as i feel so free is madonna's strongest solo release of the past 10 years. the song debut at #90 on the uk singles charts, madonna's first entry as a solo artist since 2015. on the australia club tracks the song is at #23, and in new zealand it landed at #15. many charts didnt update yet so this is not the full performance, but its already promising considering that the song is just a promotional single, not even the lead single, and a saturday release, and its playlisting peak just hit yesterday as it completely missed new music friday playlists last week, so she will probably climb the charts next week. its great seeing her getting playlisting and promotion from her old recordlabel, as a factor for her success might also be the fact that she returned from interscope to her og recordlabel, warner. im very excited for her duet with sabrina and the lead single, i feel so free got my hopes up for confessions II.
